vvAerlite Supreme appeared to pull himself up in front close home after trading at 1.01 (PS4,566 traded on Betfair) in the 3m handicap chase at Perth, allowing Beeves (140) to reclaim the lead in the final stride. vvSpeed Demon, who was tailed off in the 3m handicap chase at Fakenham, was bizarrely backed down to 1.18 on Betfair. The finish was in the end fought out by That's The Deal and Shady Glen with the former getting on top after trading at 150. Shady Glen was done at 1.07. vvThe Jody McGarvey-ridden Persistent lived up to his name when grinding down Newsworthy close home in the 2m handicap hurdle at Kilbeggan after being matched at 130. vvIt was all change late on in the Fakenham maiden hurdle as Gannicus, who looked the outsider of four in with a chance two out, found plenty to get up on the line having been backed at 180. The second and third were backed at long odds-on.
