YES! Entertainment announces court victory in fight against intellectual property infringement; Obtains preliminary injunction against Yak Bak and Mega Mouth knock off.

PLEASANTON, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 8, 1996--YES! Entertainment Corporation (Nasdaq NM Symbol: YESS) today announced that the United States District Court for the Northern District of California had granted its request for a preliminary injunction against Playtronic PTE, LTD. for infringement of YES! trademark and trade dress rights under Section 43(a) of the Lanham Act. The injunction prohibits Playtronic from, among other things, selling or marketing its mini recorder toy product under trademarks and in trade dress and packaging similar to that used by the Company for its line of recording and amplification devices.

The Complaint filed by YES! Entertainment against Playtronic alleges that Playtronic's use of the names Tokabak and BlaBlaMouth and the trade dress and packaging for its mini recorder products infringed on YES!'s trademark and trade dress rights in its popular Yak Bak(TM) and Mega Mouth(TM) product lines which are marketed as part of the well-known YES! Gear(TM) line of products.

"We are very pleased with the Court's decision to grant our request for a preliminary injunction," stated Bruce Bower, YES! Entertainment's Executive Vice President & General Counsel. "YES! believes that this is an important milestone in our campaign to protect our intellectual property from infringement and preserve the significant investment we make in the marketing of our product lines. YES! intends to continue its vigorous protection of its intellectual property rights."
