X FACTOR BRAWL PAIR GUILTY.
TWO thugs who took part in a pub brawl sparked by arguments over the X Factor were facing jail last night.Kevin Brannan, 26 and Christopher McCabe, 33, were found guilty at Hamilton Sheriff Court of attacking Grant Morrison and his friend John Goldie after a Christmas night out in 2007.
Bar stools, chairs, pool cues and cider bottles were all thrown when a row broke out in Bar Mango, Newarthill, Lanarkshire, about Scots singer Leon Jackson, then competing in the X Factor. Brannan and McCabe, both of Wishaw, had insisted they hadn't been part of the mob who attacked the two men.
But a jury decided Brannan attacked John Goldie and McCabe attacked Grant Morrison.
Sheriff David Bickett deferred sentence on both men until next month and called for background reports.
Skyline Installations, where they worked, last night condemned their actions and said they were no longer associated with the firm.
