Writer backing 'healthy books'.

AWARD-winning Liverpool writer Frank Cottrell Boyce is urging people to read 'healthy' books.

The Active Reading scheme was launched at Crosby library and aims to encourage people to 'read their way to better health.'

Frank, whose film scripts include 24 Hour Party People, Weclome to Sarajevo and A Cock and Bull Story, gave his support to the pioneering project.

Pat Nicholl, of South Sefton primary care trust, said: "Sometimes it can be difficult to deal with the problems we encounter, such as stress or bereavement.

"Active Reading offers a range of books, tapes and CDs which can help us understand our feelings during these difficult times."
