WorldPay survey examines online shoppers preferences.

According to recently completed research from multi-currency payment processing company WorldPay, online shoppers are willing to spend large sums online in one transaction.

The research also found that 38% of all those questioned spent between USD101 and USD500 in the last three months while 24% spent between USD51 and USD100 in the same period. Similarly, over 50% were happy to spend USD500 in one transaction and 58% expect online spending to increase in the next year.

According to 69% of shoppers, the language in which the web site is written is an important factor in their decision to buy online and 53% also noted the ability to complete the transaction in their own currency was important.

The survey was carried out between September 2001 and February 2002 and took into account the views from 15,149 individuals across 124 countries.
