WorldPay opts for MasterCard authentication system.

INTERNET BUSINESS NEWS-(C)1995-2002 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Financial organisation MasterCard International and secure payment processing company WorldPay have entered into an agreement.

WorldPay will now provide its existing multi-currency merchant subscribers with UCAF authentication. This will enable them to accept cardholder authentication in the form of a PIN number or password - equivalent to a signed sales receipt, according to the company.

The move is reportedly intended to reduce online fraud while also boosting both consumer and merchant confidence.

The financial terms of the agreement were not announced.
