World Day for Cultural Diversity to be observed on May 21.
HYDERABAD -- The World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development will be observed across the world including Pakistan on May 21 to raise awareness worldwide about the importance of intercultural dialogue, diversity and inclusion.
The day aims to encourage people to 'live together better'. It was
established by the United Nations in November 2001 following the adoption of a Universal Declaration on Cultural Diversity by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
The purpose of celebrating the day was to link the protection of cultural diversity and the importance of dialogue between civilizations in the modern world.
Diversity Day is an opportunity to help communities understand the value of cultural diversity and learn how to live together in harmony.
