World Breastfeeding Week.

The World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA) has announced this year's World Breastfeeding Week will take place August 1-7, 2007. World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) has been celebrated every August 1-7 since 1992 by breastfeeding supporters in over 120 countries. It is by endorsed and supported by UNICEF, WHO, FAO and the ministries of health in many countries. A WBW action folder is created as a global advocacy tool for breastfeeding advocates to highlight breastfeeding issues. The action folder is a 6-page information sheet that provides introduction and discussion to the chosen theme, relevant ideas for action, resources and regional WBW contacts. This years theme is: Breastfeeding: The 1st Hour--Save ONE Million Babies!
