World Bank gives US$12 million grant to support urban infrastructure in Bishkek, Osh.

The World Bank's Board of Executive Directors on Tuesday approved allocation of US$12 million grant for Bishkek and Osh Urban Infrastructure Project, said on the World Bank's website. The aim of the Bishkek and Osh Urban Infrastructure Project (BOUIP) is to improve the living conditions in selected semi-informal settlements (novostroiki) in Bishkek and Osh, the two largest cities of the Kyrgyz Republic, by increasing the availability of basic infrastructure to the residents of these areas.
