The World Bank Group (WBG) and International Monetary Fund (IMF), global development agencies, said they have chosen to feature Seattle-based startup, Habit Design, at their annual meetings conference.

An international leader in the training of sustainable behavior change, Habit Design is the only US company to be recognized at the Lima, Peru gathering of over 13,000 global finance and business leaders, which will also feature keynotes from UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, and IMF Managing Director, Christine Lagarde.

Habit Design's selection follows The World Bank's annual development report earlier this year, Mind, Society & Behavior, which set forth a new global development challenge to design developmental initiatives and interventions that change people's behavior over the long-term and make lasting, sociological impact.

In announcing the landmark report, World Bank President Jim Yong Kim indicated that harnessing the science of behavior change is extremely exciting and something we absolutely are committed to doing that will have a significant impact on developmental outcomes. Designed and clinically tested by licensed, clinical psychologists from Yale and the University of Washington, Habit Design was commissioned by the bank to deliver their patent-pending behavior change training for creating sustainable daily habits to over 13,000 worldwide employees.

World Bank chief knowledge officer Monika Weber-Fahr said, "Organizational, not just individual, behaviors greatly affect the efficacy of learning organizations that seek to drive their decisions through best practices. As we expand and deepen efforts to apply the science of behavior change across our entire enterprise, we are excited by the impact Habit Design has brought in helping WBG individuals, teams, and clients learn, practice, and master the science of sustainable habits."

Founded by a team of licensed, clinical psychologists from the University of Washington and Yale University, and former Microsoft, XBox, Group Health Cooperative, and Nike+ technologists, Habit Design is a clinically tested, evidence-based program to train the neuroscience of creating new, positive, daily habits.
