World's first BOPE line.

In January, Ervisa (Estrusion de Resinas Vinilcas SA), a processor of PVC and OPP packaging films based in Zaragoza, Spain, started up the world's first biaxially oriented polyethylene film line in a new plant in Asturia, Spain. The line, built by DMT S.A. in Le Bourget du Lac, France, makes cast, five-layer barrier shrink films up to 6.2 meters wide for food packaging. It uses a new process that stretch the film with tenter frames in MD and TD directions. The first commercial "5VR" shrink film targets frozen foods, though the product is so new that Ervisa doesn't yet have data sheets.
