Workshop on hazards related to drugs.

LAHORE -- The Center for Emergency and Medical Services of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) City Campus in collaboration with Character Building Society and Foundation for Young Researchers in support of National Accountability Bureau and Anti-Narcotics Force organized a workshop and walk on 'Drug Addiction and Counseling Skills' here on Thursday.

A walk was organized to create awareness among people about drug addiction and its adverse effects on individuals and people even families related to them and society.

Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof Dr Masood Rabbani led the walk while UVAS Senior Tutor Prof Dr Kamran Ashraf and a number of students and faculty members participated.

Senior Vice President Dr Imran Sajjad from Foundation for Young Researchers delivered a lecture on physiology of drug addiction, Chairman Phoenix Research Organization Dr Noor Zaman a on drug addiction treatment, Cooperate Liaison Manager Remington Pharmaceuticals Farrukh Attah Shiekh on pharmacists role in addiction therapy and Chairman Foundation for Young Researchers Dr Irfan Bashir delivered a lecture on special considerations when involving families in drug addiction treatment etc.

Later, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha chaired the concluding session of the workshops and distributed certificates and shields among the participants and guest speakers.

The workshop focused on spreading knowledge on effects of drugs and methods to prevent and treat with drug addiction patients and other special care that needed to be taken among drug addiction cases.
