Workshop on FDI deals.

MANAMA: A training workshop on the negotiations involved in bilateral investment agreements began in Bahrain yesterday.

It was organised by the Economic Development Board (EDB) in co-operation with the United Nation's Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia.

The aim of the workshop is to introduce the participants to the various essential concepts and techniques involved in the area of foreign direct investment (FDI), to equip them with the right theoretical and practical knowledge to conduct investment agreements.

The workshop will continue for one week at the Novotel Hotel and Resort, with about 20 participants from seven ministries and government organisations, including the EDB, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Central Informatics Organisation, Central Bank of Bahrain, Industry and Commerce Ministry and the Legal Affairs Directorate.
