Workshop explains building, buying and subdividing.

Everything you need to know about building or buying a home in Chelan County will be presented at a free workshop from 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Confluence Technology Center, 285 Technology Center Way, Wenatchee.

Six agencies will share expertise on subdividing property, gaining permits, building for energy efficiency and more. The workshop is being organized by Chelan County's Department of Community Development in response to the growing local housing market.

Co-sponsors are the North Central Washington Home Builders Association, North Central Washington Association of Realtors, state Department of Ecology, Chelan-Douglas Health District and Chelan County Public Utility District.

Displays and speakers will provide information on topics including buying and selling land, environmental considerations, sewer and water permits and connections, shoreline permits, real estate contracts, energy efficient construction, and fiber-optic availability.

The workshop is free, but reservations are requested. Call Sherry Meadows, administrative coordinator, at 667-6518 or e-mail her at sherry.
