Workers monthly earnings drop 0.5% in Q1.

Average workers' monthly earnings fell 0.5 per cent in the first three months of 2016 compared to the respective quarter of last year e1/41,816 and fell marginally to a seasonally adjusted e1/41,872 compared to the September to December, which is the lowest since the first quarter of 2009, the statistical service said.

Male workers saw their monthly earnings in the first quarter drop an annual 0.7 per cent to e1/41,962 and remain unchanged at a seasonally adjusted e1/42,019, Cystat said in statement on its website on Wednesday.

The monthly earnings of female workers fell 0.5 per cent in the first quarter of the year to e1/41,650 compared to the respective period of 2015, Cystat said. Their monthly earnings also fell 0.2 per cent seasonally adjusted in the first quarter compared to the last quarter of 2015.
