Worker dies in Dubai as brick falls on his head.
While a group of workers were mixing concrete, one of them tried to place concrete bricks together but one brick fell on the victim's head.
Dubai -- The Dubai Police have referred a safety engineer and a site supervisor of a construction company to the public prosecution in connection with the death of an Asian worker.
The worker died after a concrete brick fell on his head from a higher floor.
The police were alerted around 8.30am on Thursday that a worker had died in an under-construction site in Al Barsha area. The police and municipality officials who rushed to the site saw the worker, identified as Mohamed H. H., lying on the first floor of the building. He had died due to the injuries.
An Indian worker, B.H, said he was informed by another worker that while a group of workers were mixing concrete, one of them tried to place concrete bricks together but one brick fell on the victim's head. The helmet the victim was wearing broke and he died on the spot.
The police interrogated the worker from whose hands the brick fell and referred the safety engineer and the site supervisor to the Dubai Public Prosecution. They were, however, released on bail. -- email@example.com
