Woodworkers gear up for WMS 2013: the Woodworking Machinery & Supply Expo takes center stage Oct 24-26 in Toronto.
WMS 2013 will bring the largest assembly of woodworking machinery, supplies and services from around the world right to the doorstep of the Canadian wood products industry. The show will feature everything from CNC machining centers and computer software through cabinet hardware and finishing materials. As of mid-July, Hall 4 of Toronto's International Centre was sold out and space in Hall 5 was more than two-thirds sold.
WMS 2013 also will feature a free education conference. Presentations will cover key issues related to profitability and industry trends, from how to find new customers and break into new markets, through how to run your shop leaner and greener.
The International Centre is located mere minutes from Pearson International Airport and offers plenty of free parking. WMS 2013 organizers have contracted the nearby Four Points by Sheraton to serve as the event's headquarters hotel. Reservations for the group rate of $120 per night can be made on the WMS website or by phoning (905) 678-1400.
WMS 2013 is backed by leading North American trade associations, including: the Architectural Woodwork Manufacturers Association of Canada (AWMAC), Canadian Kitchen Cabinet Assn. (CKCA), Canadian Woodworking Machinery Distributors Assn. (CWMDA), Wood Manufacturing Council (WMC), Wood Component Manufacturers Assn. (WCMA) and Wood Machinery Manufacturers of America (WMMA).
In addition, the event has the support of leading woodworking media including: Wood Industry, Woodworking, Canadian Woodworking & Home Improvement, Canadian Finishing and Coatings Manufacturing and Woodworking Network. Flakeboard and General International are early sponsors of the show.
