A MAN tried to trick his way into an elderly woman's house in Coventry.

The man, who was "immaculately dressed" in a white, short-sleeved shirt and tie and black trousers, went to the house in Kelmscote Road, Coundon, at about 11am on Tuesday.

He told the woman he needed to get in to turn the water off, but she sent him away.

The man is white, 5ft 6in tall, slim, aged about 26, with a fair complexion.

Police are appealing for anyone who knows who the man is to call them on 0845 113 5000.
