Woman robbed in the street.
A YOUNG woman was robbed of her rucksack in the street.
The 21-year-old victim was carrying a rucksack with a laptop and other personal items in it as she walked from Mandale Road, Thornaby, across the roundabout at the junction of Westbury Street in Thornaby at about 8.30pm on Friday.
As the woman reached the first bus stop on Westbury Street after the bridge over the A66, she felt a pull on her rucksack.
She stumbled and saw a man who had fallen over. He stood up and ran away with the rucksack down a footpath next to the A66, towards Thornaby Road.
He is described as 5ft 5ins, of medium build with short, fair hair and was in his late teens or early twenties. He wore a dark hooded top.
