Woman in a daze stole meat and wine; IN BRIEF.

A DAZED woman walked out of a petrol station with stolen meat and wine.

Rachel Robson admitted stealing from the Millbridge Co-op service station in Liversedge on June 21.

Kirklees magistrates were told that she paid for some milk and flowers, but then failed to hand over cash for the other items.

Staff at the shop reported that the 47-year-old appeared to be in a dazed state.

Her solicitor Paul Blanchard said that she was experiencing personal difficulties and had no recollection of the incident. He said: "She's more embarrassed than anything else because of the situation she finds herself in."

Robson, of College Street, Birstall, was ordered to pay PS10 compensation for the goods not recovered by the store. She will also have to pay PS85 costs and PS20 victim surcharge.
