Byline: Chelsea Deffenbacher The Register-Guard

The woman whose body was found in a downtown Eugene alley late Friday night was identified as Nicole Lorraine Murr, 34, of Eugene, according to a statement released by Eugene police Monday.

Witnesses who called 911 at 11:53 p.m. Friday reported that Murr was lying unconscious and not breathing in the alley between Olive and Willamette streets near the Parkade at East Seventh Avenue, and it appeared she had been bleeding. Eugene police and medics arrived and determined that Murr was dead.

The cause and manner of Murr's death remain under investigation. Anyone in the area at the time who might have seen or heard anything suspicious is asked to call Eugene police at 541-682-5111.
