Woman dies in horror tractor smash.

A WOMAN died after a crash between a car and a tractor on a rural road.

Emergency services were called to the A5 near Burlington Pool in Shifnal, Shropshire, at 9.50pm on Friday.

Two ambulances, a responder paramedic and a senior paramedic officer were sent to the accident. But the woman, who has not been named, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The car's male driver was uninjured.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman, said: "A car had been in collision with a hay baler which was being towed by a tractor. The car had suffered significant damage. The passenger of the car, a woman, suffered fatal injuries and was confirmed dead at the scene.

"The driver, a man, was assessed on scene by crews and had suffered no serious injuries. The man was taken to New Cross Hospital as a precaution."
