Woman aged 81 in fire drama.

A woman aged 81 needed hospital treatment after a fire in the kitchen of her Leamington home.

Fire crews were called at 3.45pm yesterday to the flat in Russell Terrace.

It was first feared that the woman was trapped inside, but firefighters found she had managed to make her own way out.

The woman was taken to Warwick Hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation but was later released.

Jewellery stolen

Jewellery and electrical items were stolen in a raid on a Leamington house yesterday.

The break-in at the property in Kenilworth Road happened while the occupant was out, between 7.30am and 4.45pm.

The value of the missing goods is not yet known.
