Witkoff named 'man of the year'.

New York realtor Steven C. Witkoff, named "Real Estate Man of the Year" by the Israel Cancer Research Fund, received the organization's "2001 Humanitarian Award" during a special luncheon ceremony on Oct. 23 at the New York Hilton & Towers Hotel.

One of New York's pre-eminent real estate personalities, Witkoff is a deeply committed supporter and champion of the fund's mission to eliminate cancer for the benefit of all mankind.

Some of the city's top real estate families were on hand to pay tribute to Witkoff at the gala, which featured Channel 9's popular TV news anchor, Emmy Award-winning Rolland Smith, as special guest speaker.

Commenting on the award, ICRF chairman emeritus and real estate campaign chairman, S. Donald Friedman said: "Steve Witkoff's charitable spirit and generosity are well-known in the real estate community. His support of the Israel Cancer Research Fund's important work is gratefully appreciated."

As a principal of the Witkoff Group, Witkoff directs one of the nation's largest privately held realty companies. The Witkoff Group' s current portfolio consists of more than 11 million SF of commercial, residential, retail, and industrial holdings, as well as a number of major land and hotel developments.
