Winstar honored by magazine.
Grapevine is an Intranet sales resource that provides real-time access to targeted and up-to-date product and customer information, enabling Winstar's extensive national sales force to be more productive. This single, online source includes information on products, pricing, promotions, sales contests, training, sales reporting and sales territory management. Grapevine is a pivotal tool in maintaining Wistar's consultative and highly personal sales approach. In 1998, Grapevine was the recipient of the Arthur Andersen. "Unleashing the Power of Technology Award."
A panel of judges from CIO magazine reviewed more than 200 nominated Intranet sites using highly descriptive applications that detailed the functional importance of the site. The judges then recognized the best sites in their medium and selected the sites that best met their states goals.
"It is clear from this year's winners that the Internet is no longer an experiment," said CIO senior editor Megan Santosus. "With dedicated staff, financial resources and executive talent, winners are sending a message that the Internet is an important business medium and it is here to stay."
"We are very pleased to be selected as a CIO magazine Web Business 50/50 winner," said Richard Calder, chief marketing officer for Winstar. "Our Grapevine Intranet. Web site is indicative of Winstar's overall strategy to help businesses use the broadband network to be more productive and profitable."
