Winner of Helen Bernstein Book Award announced.
Washington Post reporter Dana Priest has been awarded the Helen Bernstein Book Award for excellence in journalism.
Priest was awarded the USD15,000 prize for her book 'The Mission: Waging War and Keeping Peace With America's Military' which deals with the US military and its approach to foreign policy.
The prize awarded by The New York Public Library has been presented annually since 1987 'to an outstanding journalist whose book has brought an important issue, event, or policy to public attention', reports The Associated Press.
