BALA Town have been drawn against FC Differdange 03 from Luxembourg in the first qualifying round of the Europa League.

Newtown are paired with Valletta of Malta while Airbus UK Broughton have the most difficult draw of the three Welsh clubs with a trip NK Lokomotiva Zagreb of Croatia.

A club statement from Bala said: "We are all delighted with the outcome of today's draw. "There were plenty of big names in our group with Rosenborg and Aberdeen both in our pot, but to draw Differdange is fantastic as we hope we'll have a realistic chance against them, especially after coming so close two years ago against Levadia.

"Obviously we are away in the first leg but thankfully as Luxembourg is not that far we will be able to sort out both fixtures much quicker than what a trip to Belarus would've been.

"Since then we have found out we could face giants Trabzonspor in round two, who are a massive name in European football, and our social media sites have gone into meltdown due to all the interest from both sets of supporters (we're trending on twitter in Turkey).

"We are not getting ahead of ourselves at this stage as we have two tough fixtures against Differdange first, but we're all really excited for the next couple of weeks."

" Bala will be away in Luxembourg on Thursday, July 2, and play their home leg at Rhyl on July 9.Airbus are home in their first leg at Bangor City on July 2 and visit Zagreb on July 9. Newtown are home to Valletta on July 2 and travel to Malta on July 9. If Bala progress, they will take on Turkish giants Trabzonspor on July 16 and 23. Airbus will meet PAOK FC of Greece if they get past Lokomotiva, and Newtown will face FC Kobenhavn of Denmark if they overcome Valletta.

In the Champions League, The New Saints will play B36 Torshavn of the Faroe Islands in the first qualifying round.

TNS will be away for the first leg on June 30 or July 1 with the second leg a week later on July 7 or 8. The winners face Hungarian side Videoton FC in the second qualifying round.

TNS, who won the Welsh domestic treble in 2014-15, will have to progress through three qualifying rounds and a play-off if they are to reach the group stage for the first time.

In next week's opening tie, Saints winger Adrian Cieslewicz is set to come up against his elder brother Lukasz, who plays for Torshavn.

English Premier League side West Ham, who earned a place in the Europa League via the UEFA Fair Play table, were handed a draw against FC Lusitans of Andorra.
