Winding for flexible tubing and delicate profiles.

The Model S160 spooling machine from Progressive Machine Co. is said to be well suited for winding flexible tubing and delicate plastic profile materials that require precision tension control to avoid stretching or damage to the product. The S160 produces packages to a maximum of 24 inches in diameter by 20 inches in width. According to the company, spool changeover is easily accomplished, and transition time is minimized in order to increase efficiency in continuous-run applications. Pitch adjustment is infinitely variable from 0 to 2 inches per spindle rotation. Tension range is from 8 to 32 oz, with a maximum line speed of 500 fpm. Available options include digital counters, material guides and coatings, spool/core/coiling adapters, stainless steel guard plates, and ultrasonic tension control (10 to 50 gr).
