Wind stretch film with no harmonic wobble.

When SML of Austria (U.S. office in Kennesaw, Ga.) introduced its Winder 2000 Stretch Web model for high-end film two years ago, the company kept quiet about how the winder could ramp up to full speed without any harmonic vibration. Harmonics can affect roll quality by keeping air out of the roll. The secret is a just-patented clamping device at both ends of the shaft. It shortens the clamped length at a certain rpm before the pre-calculated harmonic occurs, then changes back to the original clamped length again. Tel: (770) 924-0991 * PTDirect: 756DM
