Wildflower chart for country park.

CONWY'S Countryside Wardens have published a wildflower chart to help visitors identify the plants around them. This colourful chart features photos of the most common wildflowers that can be found growing wild on the Great Orme.

Many of the habitats on the Great Orme are notable and of European importance for their wildlife, including the limestone grassland and limestone cliffs.

This new chart lists the plants by the habitats in which they can be found. The chart shows where in the GreatOrmeCountryParkthese habitats occur, and the flowering times of each species so that visitors know where and when to look.

For those unable to walk great distances to find the wildflowers, there is a wildflower garden by the Visitor Centre, which is home to several important and rare flower species.

Copies of the Wildflower ID Chart can be purchased from the Wildlife Gift Shop in the Visitor Centre near the summit of the Great Orme, costing pounds 1 each. For more information about the Great Orme's history, wildlife and geology please you can visit their website by logging on to or by calling the council on telephone (01492) 874151.
