Wife admits lying in coma cheat's scam.

THE wife of a conman falsely claimed he was in a coma and therefore not fit to face court after he stole PS41,570 from a pensioner.
Helen Knight, 34, yesterday pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice after she helped husband Alan, 47, spend two years posing as a quadriplegic in a coma to avoid court.
He admitted the same charge via a video link to the jail where he is serving fourand-a-half years for taking the life savings of neighbour Ivor Richards, 86.
Judge Peter Heywood told Swansea crown court: "The illness was a cock and bull story. It seems he now accepts that."
Knight claimed he had a neck injury which caused seizures and left him frequently unconscious. The pair, of Swansea, will be sentenced in two weeks.
