Wicks acquires Asset Alternatives Inc., publisher of The Private Equity Analyst.
Assets Alternatives founder and president Steven P. Galante will continue in his present role. The business will become a unit within the Financial Information Group of Wicks, under the direction of senior vice president Maile Hulihan. No terms of the purchase were disclosed.
Asset Alternatives also produces four other newsletters--Latin American Private Equity Analyst, Venture Capital & Information Technology, Venture Capital & Health Care, and The Corporate Venturing Report--and a series of conferences, research reports, directories (including The Corporate Venturing Directory and Yearbook and Galante's Venture Capital and Private Equity Directory), as well as internet-based products (assetnews.com). The products cover corporate venture capital and information technology.
"This is an outstanding group of market-leading information products serving an expanding market with an increasing demand for quality information," said Doug Manoni, Wicks president and CEO. "Our partnership with Steven Galante and his talented management team will allow us to capitalize on the intensifying interest in this sector with related product enhancements and new product introductions,"
A little more than a month ago Wicks acquired the Washington, D.C.-based Georgetown Publishing House and Global Network, with its eight newsletters and other products, for a reported $20 million.
This most recent acquisition expands Wicks' portfolio of properties serving financial and general management professionals, which includes the Briefings Publishing Group in Alexandria, Virginia, as well as the Investment Advisor and Treasury & Risk Management magazine.
Wicks, an affiliate of the New York-based private equity firm Wicks Group of Companies LLC, was recently named among the 40 fastest growing information companies by Folio: magazine.
