WiMAX Forum[R] Russia Regional Focus Programme Unveiled Featuring FreshTel, Yota and Clearwire.

Regional Representatives of the Entire WiMAX Value Chain Will Explore and Resolve the Commercial and Strategic Challenges That Lay Ahead at This Year's Official WiMAX Forum Russia & CIS Conference

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Today the WiMAX Forum([R]) announced details of the second annual Russia Regional Focus show to take place at the Marriott Royal Aurora in Moscow, Russia on 18th - 19th November 2009.

Sponsored by Samsung and CEDICOM, the WiMAX Forum Russia Regional Focus programme boasts 15 regional and international operator speakers who will be sharing real results from WiMAX trials and commercial deployments, including brand new case studies from FreshTel. Live dual English/Russian translation will be available for all presentations.

In a recent report published by Infonetics Research, Directing Analyst Richard Webb characterizes Russia as the 'perfect storm' for WiMAX, referring to the enormous country's wildly dispersed population, tough-to-wire geography, lack of current broadband infrastructure, and "a population able to pay for services." Already there are 10 commercial WiMAX networks in Russia. Notably, In partnership with Yota, Russia was the market where HTC chose to launch the world's first dual mode GSM/WiMAX Smartphone.
