Why Paul's no liability to Reed Smith.

One of the UK's leading product liability lawyers has joined the Midlands office of Reed Smith.

Paul Llewellyn will run the international law firm's UK-wide product liability practice from the Midlands office, and plans to carve a much bigger share of the market.

Mr Llewellyn joins from Eversheds in Nottingham, where he was a partner for the last ten years.

His practice focuses on product liability litigation and ancillary regulatory advice, principally for medical device and pharmaceutical companies.

He has been actively engaged in two of the three largest medical device recall cases of the past ten years, and has extensive experience in dealing with pan-European and US product liability claims.

Reed Smith's Midlands managing partner, Chris Hill, said: "Paul's appointment reflects our commitment to the continuing development and growth of the product liability practice in the UK.

"His practice has natural synergies with the firm's highly regarded US products practice and particular focus in advising life sciences companies."

Mr Llewellyn added: "Reed Smith's strong US practice and clear dedication to further expansion into Europe provides a strong platform to cultivate the product liability practice. I am delighted to have joined the team
