Why Jack has hit the road.

Albion Rovers boss Kevin Harper claims Hamilton Accies kid Jack Breen didn't want to battle for a starting place after his loan deal was ripped up.

The midfielder extended his stay at Cliftonhill until the end of the season just four weeks ago after struggling to hold down a regular place during the first half of the League Two season.

Harper stated the 20-yearold asked to go back to New Douglas Park after he was left on the bench against Cove Rangers and search for a temporary deal at another outfit.

The gaffer said: "It wasn't our decision but we don't want to keep a player who doesn't want to play for the club.

"Jack told us after the game against Cove that he wanted to leave the club because of the lack of game time.

"At the end of the day we need to see the performances from our players to get in our team.

"I'm not disappointed that he has left but I'm disappointed that he didn't want to stay and fight for a place.

"It's not an issue for us; it was a chance for him but if he feels like he can get more games elsewhere that's fine."
