Who would swipe my little Fudge? BRAZEN THIEF SNATCHES BELOVED PET Widower's fears after dognap.

Byline: Lauren Crooks

A distraught dog owner has appealed for help in finding his chihuahua puppy after a brazen thief stole him from his garden.

Hugh Thomson, 64, took six-monthold Fudge and his pomeranian dog Millie out on Friday night.

A man approached the fence in Johnstone, Renfrewshire, and chatted to Hugh - but suddenly swiped tiny Fudge and ran off.

A neighbour on Kilbarchan Road spotted what happened and gave chase but the heartless dognapper got away. Hugh and his son Charles, 31, are worried the pet - who cost PS450 - may have been sold on.

Hugh said: "I didn't think anything of this guy stopping to speak to me because people always do when they see the two dogs.

"He was telling me how much he liked dogs and said he had dogs of his own.

"He asked if he could clap him, then he held him as well. But when I went to take the dog back he just bolted.

The grandad added: "I lost my wife Rose last year and Friday was our wedding anniversary so it was a tough day. The dogs really keep me company.

"I just want him back."
