Food ingredients supplier Champagne Foods has announced that is has become the exclusive sales and marketing partner for White Oak Frozen Foods of Newman, California.

White Oak are the producers of "Reduced Moisture" [TM] IQF Vegetables which are used in new product formulations or as cost-effective replacements for other vegetable sources. Their unique functionality offers superior performance in applications such as:

* Meal items: frozen/chilled meals, pizza toppings, quiches and soups

* Wet sauces salsa, dressings, dips, spreads, culinary/pasta sauces

* White Oak Vice President Dan Wilkinson explains that the key functional benefits of "Reduced Moisture" [TM] IQF Vegetables are their superior texture and intensified colour and flavour compared with regular IQF products. Wilkinson lists the other important advantages of his products as:

* Control of the syneresis from the frozen vegetable piece when it is thawed, processed or heated during food preparation

* Higher usable vegetable solids level and low water transfer to products

* Limited piece shrinkage and higher piece count per unit weight

* Excellent microbial control through the "SHS" pasteurisation system

* Improved freeze-thaw stability / better free-flow /improved piece shape

* Reduced shipping, storage and handling costs through lower water content

* Together with White Oak, Champagne Foods is able to offer the following range of "Reduced Moisture" [TM] IQF Vegetables in dice/strips to food processors and foodservice companies in the UK, Ireland and certain European and overseas markets:
