Whitbread PLC restructures shares.

Whitbread PLC of London, England has made a proposal to equalize the voting rights for Whitbread A and B shares.

According to the company, the plan would allow the British brewer to launch rights issues if it wants. The move will also simplify the company's capital structure, which may help it attract institutional investors.

Analysts said that the changes will give Whitbread a new way of financing its acquisition strategy. The company is currently in the market to buy a major pub chain.
