Which top comics tickle your fancy for a night out? The Midlands is gearing up for some incredible comedy shows. KIRSTY BOSLEY reports.
MICHAEL MCINTYRE May 10-13, Arena Birmingham Due to massive demand, Michael McIntyre now has four Birmingham dates on his Big World Tour. The BAFTA award-winner will perform to arenas across the UK and Ireland this year. He's got America, Canada, Switzerland, Iceland, Sweden, Malta and the Netherlands on his to-do list for the first time, too.
JEFF DUNHAM May 19, Genting Arena With only two UK dates on his Passively Aggressive Tour, Midlands fans are lucky indeed. Jeff, a Guinness World Record holder for most tickets sold for a stand-up comedy tour, has more than a million YouTube subscribers and has amassed over a billion views on the channel.
BILL BAILEY June 2, Arena Birmingham He was last in Birmingham on his Limboland tour, and now Bill is heading back with new material. Larks in Transit is the name of his latest jaunt, said to be a "compendium of travellers' tales and the general shenanigans of 20 years as a travelling comedian''. Limboland was massively successful, with Bill performing to 230,000 fans at 170 sell-out dates.
FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS June 26, Genting Arena The daft duo - known to their mums as Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie - were forced to cancel their March 22 show date when the latter injured his hand. But the musical pair are hitting the road again to bring their fans the show they've been dying to see. The show will be a culmination of their 20 years working together.
JASON MANFORD July 20, Arena Birmingham Jason's latest tour sounds like a hoot. The show, entitled Muddle Class, promises to feature a wealth of new material about Jason growing up working class then finding, over the years, that part of him has become middle class.
KEVIN HART August 30, Arena Birmingham Kevin's last US and international What Now tour sold out large venues all over the world. Fortunately, tickets are still available to the Birmingham date of his Irresponsible Tour.
THE LEAGUE OF GENTLEMEN September 13-14, Arena Birmingham will become the fictional village of Royston Vasey for two nights. It's been 12 years since BAFTA-winning legends Reece Shearsmith, Steve Pemberton, Mark Gatiss and Jeremy Dyson last toured.
SARAH MILLICAN October 25, Symphony Hall She's not a control freak, but she is an enthusiast... Sarah's Control Enthusiast show promises to reveal her views on ''Rescue Men; what can happen in a bra fitting; and the benefits of casserole''. Plus ''tips on how to talk to shop assistants and the correct way to eat a biscuit''.
