When Is 'The Good Doctor' Coming Back?

It's hard enough to wait an entire week between "The Good Doctor" episodes and, sadly, this time around it's going to be even longer than that. Not only won't the freshman ABC series be airing a new episode tonight, but it won't be doing so until Feb. 26.

With the 2018 Winter Olympics in full swing, most networks are delaying new episodes of their shows until after they end on Feb. 25 in order to have the best chance of having high viewerships. "The Good Doctor" is one of those shows whose episodes are on hold.

When the medical drama returns on Feb. 26, it'll kick off with the premiere of its 15th episode, titled "Heartfelt." While the official synopsis for this broadcast isn't yet available, the promo for it shows a lot of what fans can expect.

The short 15-second video reveals that a young boy is dying and a new liver is his only chance to survive. His family agrees to have him accept a transplant from a imprisoned murderer, as donated organs are hard to come by, especially ones that match. Unfortunately, the inmate has his own plan about what happens when he arrives at the hospital, and it's not a sympathetic one. The trailer shows him turning on his guard, holding a gun to his head while Dr. Claire Browne (Antonia Thomas) shouts for him to stop.

It looks to be a high-stakes episode for both the patients and the doctors, which only makes the wait that much harder for fans. To make matters worse, there aren't a lot of other new options viewers can watch tonight in its place, with shows like "Scorpion," "The Resident" and "Lucifer" also on hiatus until the Olympics close.

Luckily, ABC will be airing re-runs of "The Good Doctor" during its normal time-slot on Mondays, at 10 p.m. EST, right after new episodes of "The Bachelor." Tonight, a re-broadcast of the sixth episode of the medical series, called "Not Fake," will air.

"The Good Doctor" returns with new episodes on Feb. 26 on ABC at 10 p.m. EST.
