Wheels: Agile BMW Boxer.
TOURING bike market leader BMW has announced a replacement for its most successful model ever, the RT Boxer.The new 1200 will take over from the current R1150 RT early next year, with prices from pounds 9, 910 and a long list of extra-cost options.
Since it arrived here in March 2001 the R1150 RT has found over 2, 350 buyers, making it the second most popular model in the current range behind the R1200 GS.
The new R1200 RT is the second model of the new Boxer generation.
BMW says that like the R1200 GS, it aims to capture a new market share by convincing riders that a touring motorcycle can also be dynamic, agile and fun to ride.
It has a 0 60mph acceleration time of just over 3. 5 seconds and a top speed of 125mph.
