Wheat procurement drive concludes in Mianwali.

MIANWALI -- The wheat procurement campaign by the provincial government concluded in district Mianwali during which more than 586,000 wheat bags were purchased from farmers against the target of 627,000 bags. According to a spokesman of the Food department Zahoor Akhtar Khan, a total of six wheat procurement centers were set up where purchasing was made at first come first serve basis according to the approved lists of PITB after 'Gardawari'.

He disclosed that Rs 1.91 billion were paid to farmers during the drive, adding that Rs 9 were provided to farmers as transportation charges.

He said that over 9,000 farmers were provided with 604,626 gunny bags during the campaign.
