What wood you do in our case? tricks of the trade; How to get that country feel for your kitchen and a top 10 of retro radios.

We'd like our new kitchen to have a country feel but can't decide between wood and painted doors. My husband says wood will last longer. My argument is we can repaint painted doors.

I suggest you combine both. If you're planning on having an island, perhaps this could be in wood with the main cupboard painted, or vice–versa. Or have wooden base units and painted wall cupboards. If you choose the right shade of paint to tie in with the wood finish – for example a heritage shade with oak, or a pastel shade with a pale wood tone – it will work.
