What to WATCH.

Downton Abbey: Behind the Drama (ITV1, 7.30pm) In this fascinating documentary we go behind the scenes of this year's most popular costume drama. We take a tour of the sets at Ealing Studios where the below stairs scenes are filmed, before travelling to Highclere Castle in Berkshire which doubles as the Abbey. We also see how they filmed the impressive opening scenes from the last series from the Battle of the Somme, and the cast and crew talk about their time on set. Hugh Bonneville who plays the Earl of Grantham narrates the programme in his usual suave and sophisticated way.

A Night of Heroes (ITV1, 8.30pm) Phillip Schofield and Amanda Holden are at the Imperial War Museum in London to host this gala night celebrating the work of the British Armed Services during the past year. It's similar to the Pride of Britain awards but focuses more on the military. Famous faces in attendance are Frank Lampard, Holly Willoughby and Simon Pegg as well as members of the royal family. Grab your hankies 'cos your going need them.

Ruth Jones' Christmas Cracker (BBC2, 10pm) The south Walian comedian is back for another of her star-studded Christmas chat shows. Joining her will be her partner in crime James Corden, who was her co-writer of Gavin and Stacey, so expect some serious banter and cracking chat. Also appearing, fresh from her stint on Strictly, will be Lulu.
