What in 'English pig' is racist?

? NO GOODWILL from Swansea magistrates towards a chap who, tipsy on his stag-night, described a policeman as "an English pig".

Matthew Thomas, 31, was fined PS100 for a "racially aggravated public order offence" and barred from leaving his home at night for three months - why would he with a new bride to keep warm? This case is crazy. Saxons, Celts, Picts, all the tribes that make up Britain, have been insulting each other since Arthur burned his buns, so what in "English pig" is racist? If it was likening a Peeler to pork, then it was nothing more than rude. If it's mention of his nationality, it's a statement of fact. Since when has being English degenerated to insult? Would it have been racially aggravating had Welshman Mr Thomas called the policeman a Welsh pig? In similar vein, 12,000 called for a journalist to be sacked after she alluded to the Scots as "sweaty jockstraps".

An English pig and a sweaty jockstrap racist abuse? Not in my book, but then I'm a thick Mick, oiwnseach (Gaelic female fool), a culchie (village idiot) - not to be confused with a jackeen (a city wide boy).
