What happened to the heirlooms?

IT'S safe to say that this series of Antiques Roadshow has been one to savour.

In recent weeks, Fiona Bruce has been as excited as a kid at Christmas while sifting through all sorts of weird and wonderful finds, but even she hasn't been as animated as the owners of the featured valuables when they have discovered how much their items could fetch in an auction.

Like all good things, this series comes to an end tonight, which means we'll have to find something else to do to keep us entertained on a Sunday evening until the programme returns in hopefully the nottoo-distant future.

In tonight's swansong, Fiona and the team of experts look back at the most memorable items from the series.

They also find out what we've all been dying to know - what has happened to the pieces since appearing on the show. Did their owners cash in on their heirlooms, or keep them for further generations.

Also, keep your eyes peeled for the discovery of a previously unknown work by a famous British artist - that was definitely one of the highlights of the series.

Antiques Roadshow BBC1, tomorrow, 8pm
