What are the Best Restaurants in Napa Valley?; Visitors to ilovenapa.com Rate La Toque and The Cantinetta at Tra Vigne Tops.

News Editors/Food and Wine Writers

NAPA VALLEY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 21, 2003

Napa Valley visitors and residents have rated La Toque and The Cantinetta at Tra Vigne as their favorite restaurants in the famous wine region, according to ilovenapa.com, the new insider's guide to Napa Valley. (www.ilovenapa.com)

Since the inception of ilovenapa.com in April 2003, tourists and locals have been reviewing and rating Napa Valley's restaurants, as well as wineries, spas, galleries, and inns -- all experiences. Everything is rated, from the tour at Artesa winery to the tapas at Zuzu restaurant. The site boasts 66 percent more Napa Valley restaurant listings than the popular tourism guide, Zagat.com. Ratings are based on a 100-point scale, with ties broken by the frequency of ratings.

As of July 9, the top ten tables in Napa Valley are:
1. La Toque (98 Rating)
2. The Cantinetta at Tra Vigne Wine Bar (98)
3. Terra (97)
4. Rutherford Grill (96)
5. Fume Bistro and Bar (95)
6. Cindy's Backstreet Kitchen (95)
7. French Laundry (95)
8. Martini House (95)
9. Mustards Grill (95)
10. Auberge du Soleil (95)

"Our goal is to celebrate the best of Napa Valley, and to help 5 million annual visitors make sense of all their options," says Jim White, ilovenapa.com co-founder. "It's the only visitors guide to Napa Valley whose listings and recommendations are not influenced by advertising," he added.

While visitors and residents get to play the role of critic in the website's Best of Napa Valley section, White provides his own insider's perspective in "Jim's Personal Favorites." White's reviews cover the standard to the eclectic, from his favorite hanger steak, ahi tuna sandwich and cheese shop, to specialty massages and places to sip Pinot Noir. "When I moved here, there was simply no resource to which I could refer out-of-town visitors, and they all had the same questions -- where to dine, what to drink, what to do," says White. "We conceived of ilovenapa.com as a central resource for this type of information and related opinion."

ilovenapa.com also spotlights under-the-radar wines that rarely make it out of the Napa Valley, and that have scored 90 points or better by White's rating.
