What's coming up ... next week's TV.

FIRST the bad news ... Downton Abbey is back (ITV1, tomorrow, 9pm).

No! Please don't hit me, Downton fans.

And now the good news - if you have an aversion to period dramas, and fancy something that isn't too taxing, you can watch Big Fat Quiz Of The 80s instead (Channel 4, Sunday, 9pm) - hopefully there will be plenty of jokes at presenter Jimmy Carr's expense.

Master showman and illusionist Derren Brown is back to mess with our minds again (Derren Brown: Svengali, Channel 4, Tuesday, 9pm), while made in Liverpool drama Good Cop (BBC1, Thursday, 9pm) ends its four-week run - will PC John Paul Rocksavage (Warren Brown) finally stop killing people? Will we find out what exactly is wrong with his housebound dad (Michael Angelis)? Will there be some more nice shots of Crosby beach? So many questions.

Finally, The Choir: Sing While You Work (BBC2, Thursday, 9pm) sees inspirational choirmaster Gareth Malone trying to get wage slaves to sing a happy song. Ha!
