Wham, bam.. thank you, Pam.

Byline: KEVIN O'SULLIVAN

WEEK two of C4's Sunday Night Project and hectic hosts Alan Carr and Justin Lee Collins are grappling with the semi-presence of ageing Baywatch bimbo Pamela Anderson.

The too-old pin-up girl has virtually phoned in her couldn't careless performance. And her take-the-money-and-run attitude casts a cloud of indifference over the entire lacklustre affair.

"Baywatch was one of the greatest TV shows in the history of television," gasps the breathlessly excited Collins. What other kind of shows are there in the history of television? And in the annals of small-screen greatness, I'm not sure beach beauty Anderson's slo-mo lifeguard romps are up there with Brideshead Revisited. But back to the Project and, clearly, busy Pammie can barely spare her fawning British hosts any time at all.

So tight is her schedule that showbiz crawlers Carr and Collins have to meet her at Heathrow and film dismal footage in the back of a stretch limo on her brief journey to London's swish Dorchester Hotel. Climbing into their luxury gasguzzler, Justin boasts: "It's a V8, 4.6-litre blacked-out limousine." Save the planet? Bollocks!
