West Park slump again.

Byline: Ron Roby

Penrith ....................45 West Park ..................5 WEST PARK slumped deeper into the relegation abyss with a poor performance against promotion contenders Penrith.

Apart from the first half hour when the visitors matched the Cumbrians and scored their only try following a catch and drive, the visitors simply went from bad to worse.

Penrith's teenage full-back Gavin Cartmell who scored a hat-trick of tries, was a constant thorn in their side. Together with Cumbrian Colt centre Sandy Kerridge and number eight Mike Raine, they gathered seven tries and five conversions to show Pentrith's intentions of going up.

Park unfortunately lost all their front row causing the scrums in the last quarter to be uncontested.
